Wittrock at Bande Musicali in Concerto

Carl Wittrock took the honored mantle of guest conductor in the Auditorium San Barnaba, housed within the Conservatorio di Musica in Brescia, for the 'Bande Musicali in Concerto 2024' Festival.

This event brought together the Nuova Banda Tignalese and the Corps Musicale Città di Palazzolo sull'Oglio, under the batons of Wittrock himself, alongside the esteemed directors Roberto Milesi and Denis Salvini.

The concert featured a repertoire that included several of Wittrock's original compositions such as "Admiral Spirit," "Antarctica," and "Lady Tullamore." One of the evening's highlights was the Italian premiere of Wittrock's newest piece, "A Short Overture About a Long Journey," taking the audience on a musical voyage through diverse musical landscapes. Additionally, a special moment for Wittrock was the moving rendition of "Tignale," a piece he composed as a tribute to the Italian town back in 2009.

"A big thank you to both conductors, Roberto Milesi and Denis Salvini." Wittrock stated sincerely. "And a special acknowledgment to Dario Lorenzi for his gracious hospitality and kindness."

The festival paid homage to the storied legacies of the participating orchestras. The Nuova Banda Tignalese, under the baton of the esteemed Roberto Milesi, has garnered international acclaim through its performances across the European landscape. Meanwhile, the Corpo Musicale Città di Palazzolo sull'Oglio, under the masterful direction of Denis Salvini, boasts a legacy dating back to 1846, a testament to the enduring power of musical tradition.
